Tailored trousers…

As well as the LBD this party season, why not try a pair of TBTs too (tailored black trousers).

The general rule when wearing trousers for a dressed up occasion is the rule of opposites i.e. when wearing tight fitting trousers, a loose fitting top is best and looser fitting trousers work well with structured tops. For example the peg trouser, which is slightly high waisted, has more volume at the top of the trouser and narrows into cropped leg should be worn with a more figure hugging top so to avoid drowning out your figure or making the look too casual. Trousers that have a slight cropped length are also perfect for showing off those killer party heels!

If you prefer a more classic style of trouser, you can’t go wrong with a pair of black trousers that kick out a little at the

leg. Slim fit trousers are also a good option for the evening and slim fit trouser are usually more flattering than slim fit jeans! Once the trousers have been chosen, attention can be turned to what is to be worn on top. If choosing plain black trousers, the top can afford to be a bit more wow. Our pretty pleat top in gorgeous ruby red or silver is perfect to wear with trousers, the flattering v-neck will make of the most of your figure and with sizes 8-18 curvy – super curvy you know it will also be the perfect fit!

If you’re feeling more daring and for an ultra sexy look wear your party trousers with a corset or basque, this will add femininity and glamour to the look.

Wishing a Merry Christmas…

Merry Christmas Everybody!

Merry Christmas Everybody!

… to all our visitors and customers!   We hope you have a lovely Christmas time where ever you are and what ever you do.  Love from all at Bravissimo x

Let it snow, just not too much…

As we see the first snow fall of the festive season we should be enjoying every flake and making the most of the novelty

Let it snow!

Let it snow!

of having snow at Christmas time. Instead though, we listen to severe weather warnings and the threat of ‘heavy snow fall’.  If we Brits call it heavy snow fall, then what on earth do the Canadians call it? Our heavy snow fall would barely make people from other such countries bat an eyelid. Surely we could learn a thing or two from our counter-parts in colder climates if they can cope with -40 degrees and snow blizzards?! When snow hits their towns and cities, things still work. Taxis still run, trains keep going and people just carry on as normal. So why is it that when it snows in England, we grind to a halt?  The favourite excuse is that we’re just not used to snow.  However, one thing we know for sure, when we do get heavy snow, the kids love it!

So are we hoping for a white Christmas? Yes, we just hope it doesn’t snow too much!

Christmas food…

One thing we love about Christmas is the food! It’s one of the only times in the year that we can enjoy eating whatever

Christmas Pud

Yummy Christmas Cake

we want without feeling guilty, why? Because it’s Christmas! And with a good few months before spring we can worry about the affects later and concentrate on making the most of all the yummy food, and drinks that are around this time of year! Bring on the christmas pud!

Everyone has their own routine at Christmas and we do love roast turkey with all the trimmings. However, we’re going to try something this year so if you fancy a change, why not try something new too. There are loads of exciting Christmas recipes out there, and not a single turkey in sight! Follow this link for some non-traditional Christmas dinner recipes.

And from every thing from peach glazed ham to Danish Christmas cookies, click this link

We hope that you enjoy the festivities, whatever you decide to cook on Christmas day, but this year we’re going with something a bit different… Swedish Christmas meatballs anyone?  No, thought not!

Make the most of Christmas …

This time of year is about spending time with those you love whether you have a special someone or not.  However, they say Christmas is actually the best time of year to be single!  Think about it, you can eat whatever you want, you can go to whatever parties you want to go to, you don’t have to buy an overly expensive present and if you accidently kiss someone you shouldn’t have under the mistletoe its only yourself you have to answer to!

So if you are single, make the most of having your friends and family around. Plus there’s a whole 7 weeks until Valentine’s day, that’s plenty of time!  So whether you’re single, married or dating make sure you don’t forget the most important thing about Christmas, having a ball with the people you love!

Haute lingerie…

Some couture lingerie designers focus on exploring the different personas of women, the fun and frivolous to the cute and innocent with everything in between! So why not take a leaf out of the couture book and have fun with your underwear?

We need different types of underwear for different occasions and to wear with different outfits, but sometimes we can get stuck in a rut of wearing the same styles which may focus more on practicality than fun.  As our underwear is the foundation for our outerwear, we should pay as much attention to this as we do what we wear on the outside. Lingerie comes in so many different colours, styles and patterns there is no longer an excuse to be wearing any kind of underwear that makes you feel anything less than fabulous!

Certain designers create characters through their conceptual lingerie designs. But it doesn’t mean that you have to buy designer in order to have fun with your lingerie! You can be serious or sexy, practical or just plain fun!

Cheeky Checks Bra

Cheeky Checks Bra

Our Cheeky Checks bra is just the right balance of fun and sassy and comes in either red or blue.

The Celine and Lucy bra are perfect for adding a bit of glam to your underwear draw and the gorgeous metallic tones are right on trend this season.

The lace and polka dot combination of the Jessica bra is great if you like the quirky vintage look.

And some of your favourite styles now come in different colours to brighten up your look!

So take a leaf out of the designers’ book and enjoy your underwear everyday!

Ice, ice baby…

Fun with friends

Fun with friends

To really get into the Christmas spirit why not get a group of your girl friends together and give ice-skating a go? You might not have been ice-skating since your teens, or may never have donned a pair of skates before but we assure you, there’s nothing better for getting into the festive mood.

You don’t have to be Torvill or Dean, or have been put through your paces on Dancing On Ice to enjoy this Christmas activity. Unfortunately, however there is always one show off at this kind of thing, you know the one that insists on skating as fast as they can around the rink and almost knocks us novices over in the process, so look out for them! But if all else fails you can hold on to the side rail or get a friend to pull you along! Plus a drop of mulled wine will help to cushion the blow if you do fall skates over head! And to warm up afterwards, we suggest going for a scrummy hot chocolate, with cream, marshmallows and chocolate flakes on top (yum) and as ice-skating is a great form of exercise, you can enjoy the extra toppings guilt-free!

There are city centre ice skating rinks popping up in most major cities now, to find your nearest rink just follow the link here : http://www.enjoyengland.com/attractions/events/calendar/december/ice-skating.aspx

And just remember to wrap up warm, don’t wear your best clothes, take a thick pair of socks and gloves but most of all, ENJOY!!

Hats, hats, hats…

In recent years, hats have become a lesser worn accessory and have taken back seat to other items. But we think that the hat is coming back into fashion and there’s a style for every occasion.

As well as being practical this time of year, hats are also fun and can change an outfit from being good to being great! Here’s our low-down on how to add a hat to your outfit and what style of hat to wear when;

The woolly hat has to be the favourite this time of year but instead of going with a standard woolly hat, try a baggy

Baggy Beannie Hat

Baggy Beanie Hat

beanie. These are oversized knitted hats which slouch slightly off the back of the head. They give a more casual/cool look but can be worn dressed up too for effortlessly stylish appeal.

Trilbies are great for adding a funky twist to an ensemble but they must be combined with the right outfit to avoid the fancy dress look. Trilbies are best teamed with smart casuals such as slim fitting jeans and tailored tops/jackets.

The beret will add a little Parisienne chic to an outfit. Try a bright red or blue beret to add a punch of colour to a look.

Cowboy hats should be restricted to hen parties only, full stop.

The baseball cap in theory, should be left to the under 20’s unless it is worn in an appropriate place such as when leaving/going to the gym or other sporting event.

Trend alert for spring, flat caps. They may be associated primarily with the farmers but, the flat cap is slowly but surely creeping its way into the style stakes! They look great teamed with a classic trench and jeans. Ooh-arrr!

And finally the party hat, an absolute must have this season!! (available in most Christmas crackers!)

The Christmas count down…

Now that the lights have officially been turned on across the country, by an array of celebrities (those well know and those lesser known) we can say with an air of excitement that Christmas is most definatly on its way!

We love Christmas here at Bravissimo and we believe that treating yourself is just as important as treating your loved ones this time of year. If you’re new to Bravissimo why not treat your boobs this year to a properly fitting bra, it will make you stand tall, help to position your boobs where they should be and make you feel great. We want you ladies to feel fabulous in your underwear and just because you have bigger boobs doesn’t mean that you need to wear boring bras! So if you’re fed up of the bras you like not being available in your size, then Bravissimo is for you!

Accessorise, accessorise, accessorise…

BQ04B

Make a statement with accessories

This helpful guide to accessorising will allow you to match the right accessories to the right outfit this party season…

For strapless dresses or tops, go for the wow factor with a statement choker. Chunky jewellery is big news at the moment so don’t be afraid to try something with a bit more impact. Chokers are also great at taking attention away from the boobs, if you prefer to draw attention away from this area. Sometimes however, a strapless number can look better with a bare neckline, so add a chunky bangle or statement earings instead.

V-necks, a deep v-neck looks fabulous with a necklace that falls just short of the v-neck and this WILL draw attention to the boobs. A shallow v-neck on the other hand looks better with a necklace that sits just on the collar bone. As a general rule, pendants often work best with v-necks.

One shoulder dresses, have all they need on the upper body so add jewellery else where when wearing one shoulder pieces. If the top or dress has a lot of detail on or around the shoulders, such as a large corsage, then earings might look too much, so in this case rings and bracelets work best. If the top of the piece is quite simple however, earings can be worn but keep the rest of your jewellery simple.

And finally, choose which accessory is to be the statement piece, as pile on too many statement pieces and someone may mistake you for a Christmas tree!
