If you have picked up a fashion magazine lately, you will see that colour blocking is a huge trend this summer. There has been an explosion of colour all over the high street. This also translates to lingerie. Remember the days when your only choice when buying a bra was limited to white for everyday and black or red if you were planning a bit of romance, not very imaginative! Bras has moved on, women now want their underwear to be as vibrant and exciting as their outerwear.

We try our best at Bravissimo to keep adding to our range of lingerie, whilst keeping up with current trends and keeping our ladies’ boobs wonderfully supported. If you have been taking any notice of the trends recently, lingerie seems to be getting prettier, sexier, more glamorous and even more luxurious. There has been a huge influence from 1940s and 1950s underwear styles, think Jane Mansfield, Marilyn Monroe, Jane Russell and Elizabeth Taylor. Lingerie has been getting more ’showgirl’, and some of the styles wouldn’t look out of place on a west end stage or at a burlesque show.

Once upon a time these very sexy styles were only made for our smaller boobed friends, now thankfully, you won’t miss out. Why should women lose out on style, just because they have more up top?

Not only does it ooze sex appeal, we have it on very good authority, that this bra is very comfortable and gives amazing uplift. The Azure/ Plum is a lovely colourway and it also comes in blushing Rasberry/Charcoal. It is lightly padded and underwired with fully adjustable shoulder straps. The matching shorts are soooo gorgeous and just to top it off; they have added suspender straps, in case they weren’t sexy enough.

Saturday is the last day of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, if you are fortunate enough to have tickets or have already visited the flower show, lucky you! If you are going on Saturday, then don’t forget to take a brolly as it could be a wet one, if the forecast is to be believed.

One of the highlights is the Irish Sky Garden by Diarmuid Gavin, known for his inventive and unusual garden design, and his latest creation doesn’t disappoint. His garden in the sky overlooks reflective pools and at its highest point, you can see the whole of Chelsea and beyond, taking in the river and Battersea Power Station. Some of the gold awards were handed out to The B&Q Garden, A Postcard from Wales, Hae-woo-so (Emptying One’s Mind), The Daily Telegraph Garden and The HESCO Garden by Leeds City Council. If you have missed Chelsea there are plenty more amazing gardens to see. On the 5-10th of July, It’s the largest flower show in the world at Hampton Court Palace. And on the 20–24 July in Knutsford, Cheshire, The RHS Flower Show, Tatton Park takes place.

There are plenty up and down the country, so you should find one local to you.

According to our not so secret sources, when it comes to underwear, Bravissimo girls prefer to wear matching lingerie. There is something about wearing a set that makes us feel more together and ready to face the world, it’s a bit like red lipstick or a great pair of heels, lingerie sets inject a touch of glamour into our lives, even if the weather is pants, you’ve still got your matching bra and pants!

A few years ago B.B. (Before Bravissimo), sets used to be reserved for your wedding day or a romantic night, now thankfully, times has moved on and lingerie has too and we don’t need an excuse to wear a matching set.

So there we have it, we have a Queen for our future King and what an amazing day it was. Will and Kate managed to inject enough of their own personalities into an event that could easily have been too formal and stuffy.

From the subtle in-jokes between the pair, the vintage Aston Martin, the tree-lined aisles at Westminster Abbey, it was all so perfect. And that dress, WOW, here at the Bravissimo office, we all got very over-excited about Kate’s dress, it was the year’s best kept secret and the bride and her designer seemed to get it spot on, classic, simple and totally elegant.

 Last weekend end the clocks ‘sprung’ forward and officially marked the start of British Summer Time. (Hopefully you remembered and were not too confused when your smart phone changed automatically but the regular clocks did not). And boy, what a difference it makes. It’s not quite as light when we wake up which doesn’t make too much difference when we’re bleary eyed until the second caffeine fix at the earliest. What does make a huge difference however is how light the nights are. It’s now light when we get home from work which makes us feel like doing things after work instead of simply slinking into our comfy clothes and staying in. Besides, we stayed in all winter so are ready and raring to make the most of the milder weather and light evenings.
